The Theatre in Health Education Trust (THETA) is a Dunedin based organisation that works nationally.
We specialise in delivering applied theatre-based programmes on health related issues to rangatahi/youth in mainstream schools and alternative education.
The Trust’s work is informed by the health promotion model – that is in providing information to people to help empower them to take charge of their own health behaviours.
Applied Theatre is an umbrella term to describe theatre where the purpose is not simply performance, but engagement of the audience.
All our programmes are free to receive, enabling participation.
THETA is a registered charitable trust, governed by a board of six members including a Kaitiaki.
The trust employs a full-time Manager and Artistic Director.
A national tour of Sexwise programme is planned between March and June in 2023.
