The Theatre in Health Education Trust (THETA), based in Dunedin, operates nationally, specializing in applied theatre-based programs addressing health issues for youth in mainstream and alternative education.

Mission

The Theatre in Health Education Trust (THETA) uses applied theatre to promote well-being, equity, self-determination and to inform and strengthen communities.

Guided by the health promotion model, THETA provides empowering information to encourage individuals to manage their health behaviors. Applied Theatre, involving audience engagement, forms the core of our programs, which are offered free of charge to ensure accessibility.

THETA, a registered charitable trust governed by a six-member board, including a Kaitiaki, employs a full-time Manager and Artistic Director. A national tour of the Sexwise program is scheduled between March and June 2023.
